Do you feel as though cooking at home isn’t as enjoyable as it could be? Maybe you feel as though you need to make a change but don’t quite know where to get started. Either way, this guide will help you to take your love for cooking to the next level.

Plan your Meals in Advance

The first thing you need to do is plan all of your shopping trips. Over the weekend, or whenever you have time, try and plan out what meals you would like to make that week. Dust off your recipe books and also use meal planning apps. If you can do this, then you will soon find that it becomes easier to optimize your grocery list going forward.

If you notice that a recipe calls for a very small amount of one ingredient, such as a few sprigs of thyme then try and use that same ingredient in other recipes. The main benefit of doing this is that it saves you money.

You can group your meals by theme, if you want to use the same ingredients. For example, you can cook multiple Spanish meals in one week if you’re buying chorizo. Eventually, you will have a go-to list of meals that you can go between which will make your cooking experience that bit easier.

If you want to help yourself even more then consider delving into baking as well. As long as you have flour, butter, sugar and eggs, you usually have everything you need to make most things. If you want to get started with baking then check out this buttermilk biscuits recipe.

Grocery Delivery Services

Sometimes, the most daunting part of making a meal is going out to get all of the ingredients for it. For moments like this, you need to rely on grocery delivery services. There are many to choose from when you utilize them, you will have everything you need right on your doorstep.

You won’t have to face the crowds, long lines or deal with the stress of shopping. For veggies, you can visit farmer’s markets, as they tend to have everything you could ever need for a very affordable price. You can also pick fruit and vegetables that look the part for the meal you’re serving. Wonky veg is fine if you’re cutting it up, but for finer presentations, appearance plays a big part.

Buy the Right Equipment

Dutch ovens are a very good investment and they are super durable as well. If you want to make washing up easier then one thing you can do is opt for a nonstick pan. This will mean you can use less oil when cooking too, which is great.

Other equipment you need is a stainless steel pan so you can get a great sear on chicken and steak.

If you don’t have the right equipment then you will never be able to get the result you want out of your cooking experience, not to mention that you will also take way longer over things, which is the last thing you want when you are trying to keep the meals you cook nice and efficient.

Happy Cooking!
